Playboy Bunny Costume

Above on the left is the Magic Bunny Adult Costume which is very distinctive with its magician’s hat styled satin skirt and white velvet bodysuit. The original bunny outfit was made from rayon-satin constructed on a corset. It was the first service uniform to actually be patented. Each costume was tailor made for each Bunny. Essential components of the costume were satin bunny ears, cotton tails, collars with bow ties, cuffs with cuff links, black mesh pantyhose and matching high-heeled shoes. Over the right hip each Bunny had a name tag on a satin rosette.
You may be surprised to know that Playboy sets very high standards for its Playboy Bunnies. They had to be of an age where they could serve alcohol which varied. The primary requirement was to be beautiful, slim, a “people person” and cheerful.
You may be even more surprised to know that bra size was unimportant – the bunny costume was even more enhancing than a Wonderbra. It was also the rule to add padding into the cups.
By 1999 all the Playboy Clubs around the world had closed. At their height, there were 22 clubs. Currently, the only Playboy Club is in Nevada, Las Vegas on the 52nd floor of the Fantasy Tower at the Palms Hotel-Casino. It opened in 2006 and was the first new Playboy Club in over 25 years. For this opening, the original bunny suit was redesigned by Roberto Cavelli. The new bunny suits include leopard prints and rhinestones. The club is a Playboy-themed casino where you can play blackjack and roulette. The dealers are all Playboy bunnies as are the cocktail waitresses.
